Carolyn Moriarty
Carolyn Moriarty is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of Massachusetts. She
earned her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College.
Carolyn has worked with high school students in the Boston and Chicago area, as well as with adults in inpatient
psychiatric facilities. Most of her experience comes from working in a group practice, where she gained extensive expertise intreating anxiety-based disorders, specifically Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorder, Phobias, and Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors such as skin picking and hair pulling.
Carolyn also enjoys working with individuals who find themselves struggling with internalized anxiety
resulting from issues such as perfectionism, body image concerns, attention-deficit disorder, and
challenging life transitions.
Carolyn tailors her approach to meet the individual needs of each client but draws most from
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Dialectical
Behavioral Therapy (DBT),
Carolyn’s clinical strength comes from her ability to use humor and empathy to help clients feel
understood, rather than ashamed, stereotyped or “less than.” Her goal is to help clients identify self-
limiting beliefs, allow themselves to fully feel their emotions without judgment, discover new
perspectives, and identify opportunities for personal growth.
